Título : Discussion : “Influences of early mother-child interaction on identification processes,” Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Samuel Ritvo, Autor ; Albert J. Solnit, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 86-91 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Discusión, Comportamiento, Investigación conductual, Liderazgo, Relaciones madre-hijo, Padres, Interpretación psicoanalítica. Resumen: Lack of time does not permit me fully to discuss the paper by Drs. Ritvo and Solnit and their excellent presentation of two cases that are part of the longitudinal studies headed by Ernst Kris. I presume and hope that Miss Freud will devote her whole evening's presentation to the longitudinal studies. Here I should only like to say a few words about their importance. Resumen: What we report today is a direct outgrowth of Ernst Kris's interest and thinking in connection with the longitudinal study in child development which he directed at the Yale University Child Study Center from 1949 until the time of his death and which is being carried on by the members of the group which worked with him. Ernst Kris pointed out that many investigators thought that longitudinal studies would lend themselves very well to confirming the widely held view that certain personality characteristics,... Título : “It isn't fair : the treatment of a blind child Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Eveline B. Omwake, Autor ; Albert J. Solnit, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 352-404 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Ceguera - tratamiento, Represión, Ego, Niños, Psicoanálisis. Resumen: Ann's treatment enabled her to develop ego capacities necessary for repression, but this could not be fully accomplished until she was helped to establish better object relations and to be aware of her absence of vision. The awareness of her blindness was a painful and arduous achievement that required years of painstaking work. The treatment promoted the availability of neutralized energies through the therapist becoming a needed love object who was an ally of the child's ego. Link: ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=23333

[artículo]
Título : Mourning and the birth of a defective child Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Albert J. Solnit, Autor ; Mary H. Stark, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 523-537 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Duelo, Anomalias congénitas, Desarrollo infantil, Niños, Depresión - madre. Resumen: Our work in psychoanalysis, child development, pediatrics, and social work has reflected a continuing interest in the mutuality of theory and clinical work. The present paper arose from our observations that the theory of the mourning process was essential in order to understand the depressed reactions of certain mothers to the birth of their children. Although this could be observed most clearly and dramatically when a defective child was born, it was apparent to a lesser degree in the birth of children who were not overtly or significantly abnormal.
