[artículo]
Título : Causal explanation in science and in psychoanalysis implications for writing a case study Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Marshall Edelson, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 89-127 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Imaginación, Trastornos mentales - etiología, Teoría psicoanalítica, Ciencias, Inconsciente - psicología, Escritura. Resumen: Contends that the psychoanalytic case study can provide support for the scientific credibility of psychoanalytic theory. Three points are argued: (1) Freud's intent in his case studies was to provide empirical evidence for causal claims. Although he was not always successful in achieving this objective, there is something to learn from his example even when he ran into difficulty. Link: ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=23009

[artículo]
Título : Language and dreams the interpretation of dreams revisited Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Marshall Edelson, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 203-282 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Sueños, Simbolismo, Psicoanálisis. Resumen: ACCORDING TO FREUD'S GREAT CONCEPTION IN The Interpretation of Dreams, the dream is a symbolic entity. The dream is not intrinsically efficacious, as is the physical "cause" of a physical "effect." The dream derives its efficacy from its status as "signifier" of what is "signified." The manifest dream stands for or signifies meanings (latent thoughts); meaning, in this sense of the term, is that which is signified. Link: ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=23137
