Brain reward system dysfunction in adolescence / Brent I. Rappaport en The American Journal of Psychiatry, Año 2020 - Vol. 177 - No.8 (Agosto)
[artículo]
Título : Brain reward system dysfunction in adolescence : current, cumulative, and developmental periods of depression Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Brent I. Rappaport, Autor ; Sridhar Kandala, Autor ; Joan L. Luby, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2021 Artículo en la página: pp. 754-763 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Adolescentes, Depresión, Infancia, Preescolar, Recompensa, Anticipación, Período de desarrollo. Resumen: Reward system dysfunction is a well-known correlate and predictor of depression in adults and adolescents, with depressed individuals showing blunted (hyporeactive) striatal response to monetary rewards. Furthermore, studies of remitted depression suggest network-wide hyporeactivity of striatal (caudate, putamen, nucleus accumbens) and cortical (insula, anterior cingulate cortex [ACC]) regions even in the absence of current symptoms. Título : Clinical and Psychosocial Characteristics of Young Children With Suicidal Ideation, Behaviors, and Nonsuicidal Self-Injurious Behaviors Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Joan L. Luby, Autor ; Diana Whalen, Autor ; Rebecca Tillman, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2019 Artículo en la página: pp. 117-127 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Depresión, Niños pequeños, Suicidio, Riesgo. Resumen: Based on previous findings that suicidal ideation (SI) and behavior (SB) arose in depressed preschoolers and showed stability into school age, we sought to investigate whether unique clinical and psychosocial correlates of SI/SB and nonsuicidal self-injurious behaviors (NSSI) could be identified in young children recuited into a depression treatment study and healthy controls. Título : Depression risk predicts blunted neural responses to gains and enhanced responses to losses in healthy children Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Katherine R. Luking, Autor ; David Pagliaccio, Autor ; Joan L. Luby, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 328–337 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Riesgo de depresión, Recompensa, Castigo, fMRI, Niños Resumen: Maternal major depressive disorder (MDD) increases risk for MDD and predicts reduced reward responding in adolescent offspring. However, it is unclear whether alterations in neural response to reward can be detected in school-aged children at high risk before the typical increase in reward response observed in adolescence.
