A 40-year-old man who had previously had symptoms of and a positive test for COVID-19, but had no other previous medical or psychiatric conditions or medication, presented to the emergency unit with acute debut of agitation, grimacing, and repetitive speech and movements (verbigeration and stereotypies); his behavior was bizarre, disorganized, hyperkinetic, and uncooperative and met DSM-5 criteria for catatonia. |
