Early adversity and development / Dylan G. Gee en The American Journal of Psychiatry, Año 2021 - Vol. 178 - No.11 (Noviembre)
[artículo]
Título : Early adversity and development : parsing heterogeneity and identifying pathways of risk and resilience Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Dylan G. Gee, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2022 Artículo en la página: pp. 998-1013 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Desarrollo, Estrés, Factores de riesgo ambiental, Investigación traslacional Resumen: Adversity early in life is common and is a major risk factor for the onset of psychopathology. Delineating the neurodevelopmental pathways by which early adversity affects mental health is critical for early risk identification and targeted treatment approaches. A rapidly growing cross-species literature has facilitated advances in identifying the mechanisms linking adversity with psychopathology, specific dimensions of adversity and timing-related factors that differentially relate to outcomes, and protective factors that buffer against the effects of adversity. Título : Learning about safety : conditioned inhibition as a novel approach to fear reduction targeting the developing brain Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Paola Odriozola, Autor ; Dylan G. Gee, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2021 Artículo en la página: pp. 136-155 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Aprendizaje de señales de seguridad, Inhibición condicionada, Ansiedad, Temor, Neurodesarrollo, Investigación traslacional Resumen: Adolescence is a peak time for the onset of psychiatric disorders, with anxiety disorders being the most common and affecting as many as 30% of youths. A core feature of anxiety disorders is difficulty regulating fear, with evidence suggesting deficits in extinction learning and corresponding alterations in frontolimbic circuitry.
