Can we really accelerate and enhance the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant effect? A randomized clinical trial and a meta-analysis of pindolol in nonresistant depression / Maria J. Portella en The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Año 2011 - Vol.72 - No. 7 (Julio)

Título : Can we really accelerate and enhance the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant effect? A randomized clinical trial and a meta-analysis of pindolol in nonresistant depression Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Maria J. Portella, Autor ; Javier de Diego Adeliño, Autor ; Javier Ballesteros, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2022 Artículo en la página: pp. 962-969 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Beta-antagonistas adrenérgicos, Antidepresivos de segunda generación, Trastorno depresivo mayor, Farmacoterapia, Pindolol, Psicometría. Resumen: Since depression entails not only dramatic personal disruption but also a huge amount of medical and socioeconomic burden, slowness of antidepressant action and difficulties to attain remission are entangled issues to be solved. Given the controversial previous findings with enhancing strategies such as pindolol, we examined whether the speed of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) action can be truly accelerated with optimized pindolol dosage. Título : Orphan Comparisons and Indirect Meta-analysis : A Case Study on Antidepressant Efficacy in Dysthymia Comparing Tricyclic Antidepressants, Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors, and Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors by Using General Linear Model Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Javier Ballesteros, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2023 Artículo en la página: pp. 127-131 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Antidepresivos tricíclicos, Trastorno distímico, Nodelos lineales, Inhibidores de la monoaminooxidasa, Inhibidores selectivos de la recaptación de serotonina. Resumen: Direct comparisons of the efficacy of competing interventions are not always available in the literature. This situation leads to the presence of clinically relevant "orphan comparisons" of therapeutic interventions which have never been compared head-to-head. To overcome this limitation, simple methods for indirect meta-analysis have been suggested. Link: ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=30913

Título : Tardive dyskinesia associated with higher mortality in psychiatric patients: results of a meta-analysis of seven independent studies Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Javier Ballesteros, Autor ; Asunción González Pinto, Autor ; Antonio Bulbena Vilarrasa, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2023 Artículo en la página: pp. 188-194 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Antipsicóticos, Causa de muerte, Discinesia inducida por fármacos, Trastornos psicóticos. Resumen: This article reports a meta-analysis of seven independent studies on the association of tardive dyskinesia with all-cause mortality in psychiatric patients.
