Resumen:	Contends that the belief that the kibbutz founders were applying Freud's views appears to have been misguided from the start. The view of the oedipus complex as solely the source of pathology seems narrow and one-sided. From a contemporary psychoanalytic perspective, another proclaimed gain of communal upbringing, the separation of discipline from love, appears to be a mixed blessing.
