Resumen: |
Presents the case of a 19-yr-old female undergraduate who presented with atypical eating disorder but was found to have an underlying brain tumor. Tumor removal produced a remission in all symptoms. The denial of physical symptoms contributed to overlooking the physiological etiology of the illness, and this was influenced by the psychiatrist's overreliance on other medical authority and family psychodynamics indicating nonphysiological problems. |
