Resumen:	Examines Freud's (1900) use of metaphor in The Interpretation of Dreams, focusing on the relationship between metaphors and a sense of history, the use of metaphors as a rhetorical device, and metaphors and dreams. A technical analysis of the metaphor is noted, and dreams as metaphors and the metaphor in motion are addressed.
