Discusses observations of a 4½-yr-old boy and his 2½-yr-old sister to illustrate how siblings can influence each other in positive ways. Factors involved in the sibling experience include rivalry, competitiveness, intellectual interest, and enhanced social attractiveness of the younger sibling as he/she begins to smile, reach out, and move about. |
