Effects of isradipine on cocaine induced subjective mood / Bankole A. Johnson en Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, Año 2004 - Vol. 24 - No. 2 (Abril)
Resumen: We hypothesized that in humans, as in animals, isradipine, a dihydropyridine-class calcium channel antagonist, would antagonize cocaine's rewarding effects, based on preclinical evidence that isradipine inhibits cocaine-mediated increases in mesolimbic dopamine (DA), thereby reducing cocaine's abuse liability. Confirmation of our hypothesis would make isradipine a promising medication for treating cocaine dependence. Link: ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=30968

Título : Laboratory measures of methylphenidate effects in cocaine-dependent patients receiving treatment Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: John D. Roache, Autor ; John Grabowski, Autor ; Joy M. Schmitz, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2023 Artículo en la página: pp. 61-68 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Afecto, Estimulantes del sistema nervioso central, Trastornos relacionados con la cocaína, Frecuencia cardíaca, Metilfenidato. Resumen: Two experiments examined the effects of methylphenidate in male and female patients enrolled in an outpatient treatment program for primary cocaine dependence. The first study was a component of a double-blind efficacy trial wherein 57 patients were first tested in a human laboratory for their initial responsiveness to medication. Patients were randomly assigned to receive either placebo or methylphenidate treatment and received their first dose in the human laboratory environment before continuing in outpatient treatment.
