Studied the relationship among adolescent personality profiles, psychiatric disorders, and parenting styles through interviews with 150 14–16 yr olds. 28 Ss with psychiatric disorders were found to be discontented, pessimistic, and unpredictable. Ss who described their parents as caring were characterized by a sociable, confident, serious-minded, rule-conscious personality profile. |
