Resumen:	Neurocognitive models of depression emphasize the role of the amygdala in dysfunctional emotional processing (1, 2). Specifically, increased amygdala responsiveness to negative stimuli is posited as a mechanism underlying the aberrant low-level emotional processing in depressed individuals, manifesting as a negativity bias in the perception and recognition of emotional stimuli (3).
