Self-pity, self-comforting, and the superego / David Milrod en The psychoanalytic study of the child, Año 1972 - Vol. 27 ([02/07/2020])
[artículo]
Título : Self-pity, self-comforting, and the superego Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: David Milrod, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 505-528 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Autocompasión, Superyó, Terapia psicoanalítica. Resumen: Self-pity and self-comforting are affective states which offer a powerful resistance to analysis because they provide libidinized oedipal gratification via the rewarding function of the superego, which is activated by a narcissistic wound viewed by the subject as unjust. In addition, they offer a strong defense against self-directed punitive aggressive drives. Narcissism is heightened and there is an interference with object relationships.
