Título : On “merging” and the fantasy of merging Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Irving B. Harrison, Autor Fecha de publicación: 2020 Artículo en la página: pp. 155-170 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Idioma original : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Empatía, Fantasía, Infantes, Narcisismo, Teoría psicoanalítica, Regresión - psicología, Simbiosis. Resumen: Contends that the assumption of an original state of mother–infant unity is now widely accepted as a fact of individual psychic development. That assumption is shown in the present study to incorporate a concept of merging. It is suggested that merging was originally advanced as a primitive intrapsychic activity whereby the early ego blended sensations and impressions from diverse and nondiscriminated sources.
