Resumen: A case report of the treatment of a patient during the last three and a half months of her life has been presented. The case suggests that a major psychological problem of the dying patient is that of both actual and threatened object loss. A method of treatment has been described which provides massive protection against both physical pain and psychological unpleasure, and certain theoretical conclusions about the psychological problems of the dying have been drawn.
